
Umahi said Chukwumerije’s patriotic and nationalist bent came to the fore in the Second Republic when he joined the late Malam Aminu Kano, S. G. Ikoku, Balarabe Musa and Chinua Achebe to form the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) where he became the national publicity secretary of the party.
