Gunmen invade Jonathan’s LG, abduct council boss

Gunmen yester­day invaded the home council of President Good­luck Jonathan, Ogbia Local Government Area and kid­napped the council Chair­man, Mr. Enaye Sasime Abah.
An eyewitness account said the gunmen armed with sophis­ticated weapons waylaid Abah along Otuasega/Okarki road and opened fire on his official Prado Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV).
It was gathered that Abah was on his way to a stakehold­ers’ meeting in the council.

The eyewitness said on sighting the council boss’ of­ficial vehicle, the gunmen used a Mazda 325 to block the road.
The police orderly of the council chairman was said to have come out of the car to investigate why the Mazda blocked the road, when the gunmen opened fire on him and the policeman had to run into the bush, abandoning his principal...expdonaloaded.blogspot.com
The gunmen were said to have dragged Abah from his vehicle into the Mazda and moved towards to the water­side before escaping with a speedboat.
Police Public Relations Offi­cer (PPRO) in the state, Mr. An­sim Butwats, who confirmed the incident, said preliminary investigations indicated that the gunmen took Abah to the Abua waterways in Rivers State.
