THE American agent of Manchester City starlet, Kelechi Iheanacho served a year’s probation after he pleaded to corruption of two teenage girls. Robert Zanicky, better known as “Bob” in Nigerian football circles, entered a plea agreement when he was charged with trying to force two young girls for sex. The agent, who now runs Opportunity Academy for West Africa (OFAWA), was not to have any unsupervised contacts with minors during his probation.
He also had to undergo a mental health evaluation and a drug evaluation as part of his sentencing. ‘Bob’ won a fiercely heated chase for Iheanacho just months before the youngster was crowned the MVP of the 2013 FIFA U17 World Cup in the UAE. Both the agent’s victims testified at a preliminary hearing that he sent them sexually explicit test messages, bought them things and took them to the Wilkes- Barre Lodge on Kidder Street four years ago. The victim, who was 17, testified then that she had consensual sex with Zanicky at the Wilkes- Barre Lodge. The other victim, who was 16, said Zanicky drove her to the same motel, where he wanted to “talk” about his wife being diagnosed with cancer. When they went into the room, she said he kissed her and talked about all the things he wanted to do to her, such as pull her hair and throw her against the wall. She said she ran out of the room to the car and asked him to take her to her friend’s house.
