Top Islamic singer and national president, Islamic Musicians Association of Nigeria (ISMAN), Alhaji Wasiu Kayode Sadeeq has slammed the daughter of the late Ayinde Barrister, Ashabi Modinat aka Barrymade and Ahmed Alawiye for staging a walk out during the election conducted by the association in Lagos recently. Speaking during the inauguration of the Lagos State executives of ISMAN, Sadeeq described the duo of Barrymade and Alawiye as “a bunch of over-ambitious musicians bent on leading the association at all cost without possessing leadership qualities”.
He said that Barrymade contested for the post of Ameerah (woman leader) but when it dawned on her that she was going to lose, staged a walk out from the venue of the election. “But instead of following the due process, Barrymade, Alawiye and other disgruntled elements decided to float a parallel association.post by expdonaloaded.blogspot.com.. In as much as we will not stop them from forming any association, I know that they will not succeed,” Sadeeq stated. Continuing, Sadeeq asked rhetorically: “How can a person whose dressing does not conform with the teachings of the Holy Quran be elected to the position of an Almeerah? Her dressing is wordly and she does not have the moral status to lead our women.” In her reaction, Barrymade alleged that Sadeeq frustrated her and used all the power within his means to favour her political opponent. “Alhaji Kayode Sadeeq frustrated me and used all his powers to favour my political opponent,” she stressed. The new executive members of ISMAN are Alhaji Abideen Abdul Ganiyu, state governor; Alhaji Isiaq Alli, 1st deputy governor, Alhaji Hafeez Abolaji, 2nd deputy governor, Hajia Monsurat Ilesanmi, general secretary; and Alhaji M.A.K Sodiq aka Mar Malaika, PRO.
