Media Officer of the Bauchi Tourists, Abbas Shehu Gangura, who stated this in a telephone chat, rued the plethora of chances missed by his team in the game against Giwa FC.
“We were simply unlucky in the game against Giwa FC. We missed uncountable scoring chances. In fact, we ought to have rapped-up the game in the first half with as many as five goals but the goals refused to come,” he regretted.
“Ironically, Giwa utilized the only chance that came their way in the match to score and escape with a draw. They were very lucky and I believe it was not our day,” Gangura rued.
“But I can assure you that we shall reclaim the points we dropped to Giwa from Dolphins in Port Harcourt on Sunday (tomorrow). We’re going for victory in Port Harcourt because we want remain in contention for the league title this season,” he emphasized.
Wikki shot to the top spot after last Sunday’s stunning away win at Ifeanyi Uba but Wednesday’s draw with Giwa FC saw the Bauchi Tourists drop to the third position with 28 points from 15 matches. Sunshine Stars returned to the summit following the 3-1 thrashing of Akwa United on Wednesday while Enyimba moved to the second spot.
