“Many of the residents of Miringa now are those who were displaced from neighbouring communities by Boko Haram. Therefore, it was difficult to known whether or not Boko Haram men also fled to the town from their camp until this morning (Friday), when the group came, picked some men and killed them at a praying ground at the outskirts of the town,” says Aliyu Umar, a resident of Biu, about 15 kilometres to Miringa. A source said many displaced persons from neighbouring communities like, Zuwa, Kimba, Garubula, Chara, Gur, Bam and Ajigin.
Hours after Miringa killing, the insurgents moved to Musa, a remote community at Askira/Uba Local Government Area still in the southern part of the state. “They killed 29 people in the community, many people fled into the bush and about 200 houses were burnt,” says Sunday Waba, Chairman Musa Youth Association in a telephone interview.post by expdonaloaded.blogspot.com..
It was gathered that the insurgents launched attack on Musa at about 1pm on Friday, and sustained the violence until about 3pm, forcing many residents to flee into the bush.
Earlier on Wednesday, Boko Haram launched coordinated attack on northern town of Kukawa, a community around the Lake Chad, killing over 100 residents. Umara Bukar who fled to Maiduguri after the attack said about 120 people were killed. Saturday Sun gathered that many of the residents had assembled at some major mosques ahead of breaking of the Muslim fast. “They opened fire on many residents especially worshippers in the mosques, set fire on houses,” a vigilante leader told Saturday Sun.
The attack came a day after Boko Haram killed 48 villagers at the twin town of Mussarami in Monguno local government. No fewer than 11 people were also killed in two bomb explosions on a highway in Borno. Also, two female suicide bombers detonated IEDs along Konduga road,” Borno Commissioner of Police, Mr. Aderemi Opadokun said in a telephone message to Saturday Sun.
According to the CP: “There was explosion at Malari village along Bama/ Konduga highway and on 2-7-15 (Thursday) at about 1400 hours when a female suicide bomber detonated IED strapped to her body and killing herself and seven others, and 13 persons strained injuries. Also along Allau Dam road along Bama/Konduga highway an IED explosion by a suspected female suicide bomber led to the death of three persons.”
