Nigeria-police-logo[1]The police in Oyo State yesterday arraigned five suspected fetish fraudsters before two magistrate courts in Ibadan
The accused persons, comprising four men and one woman, were arrested recently for operating evil shrines at Baale-Ayo, Asejire, and Balogun village in Ibadan and defrauding members of the public.

The Prosecuting Police Officer, Mrs. Gladys Imegu from the Anti-Kidnapping Squad of the state command, preferred a three-count charge of conspiracy, fraud and stealing of more than N30million against four suspects.
The accused are 37-year-old Akeem(the alleged syndicate leader), 44-year-old Ayankunle (the alleged syndicate fake herbalist), 42-year-old Samsudeen (the photographer whose role was to allegedly lure rich victims to the syndicate’s trap), and 50-year-old Sherifat (the woman that purportedly played the role of a witch during their alleged criminal exploits) and another suspect now at large.
Imegu told the court that the suspects conspired to commit felony by fraudulently obtaining N30million from one Ade Adeniran in December last year at Eleyele, Ibadan, alleging further that they also stole the money.
The four suspects pleaded not guilty Magistrate, O.I. Uthsman held that the offences were bailable. He granted them bail for N1million each with two sureties each in like sum.post by expdonaloaded.blogspot.com..The court also held that one of the sureties must be at least a Level 10 officer and must provide evidence of tax clearance in the last two years, while the second surety must have landed property within Ibadan judicial division. The sureties must also have proper identifications.
The magistrate adjourned the case to June 30 and ruled that all the witnesses in the case should appear in court on the day.But one of the five suspects, the 43-year-old Oriyomi(the alleged spy), was arraigned separately before another magistrate, A.A Adebisi, on a one-count charge of conducting himself in a manner likely to cause breach of peace on June 10, 2015 at about 10a.m at Asejire area of Ibadan, and thereby committed an offence. But Oriyomi pleaded not guilty.
The magistrate also admitted him to bail for N20,000 and one reliable surety in like sum. The court adjourned his case to July 8, and ordered that the accused be remanded in prison custody pending the perfection of his bail.
