"There is a recreational and event centre which is owned by Lagos state
Government on this street which is rented for parties and
other social events.70% of the proceeds of the centre goes to the lagos
state government while 30% goes to the residents association management
but still the street is in a terrible state as the drains are blocked
due to indiscriminate dumping of thrash in the drains from the event
centre which has not been cleared in years." See more photos after the

"This street has been in this condition for years despite repeated letters and appeals by residents to former Lagos state Governor, Babatunde Fashola. The annoying fact is that just before the election, some contractors came to work on Sam Shonibare street and abandoned Okoya Thomas close which is off Sam Shonibare street. Governor Ambode should look into this urgently.
