The expulsion of the former senator, who lost the gubernatorial ticket to Hon.Emeka Ihedioha, from the party may not be unconnected with his backing of Governor Rochas Okorocha during the gubernatorial polls against the PDP candidate. Also expelled from the party for the same reasons include: Chief Jerry Chukwueke , Chief Humphrey Anumudu, Chief Bethel Nzimako,Gibson Achonwa, C. Y Amako, Charles Amadi, Kingsley Onunuju, Ethelbert Okere, Jones Uzoka, Nkem Nwankwo, Independence Ogunewe, Prof Nnamdi Obiaraeri, Celestine Uwakwe, JCN Harcourt, Sunny Heart Ibe, Azubuike Ekwegh, Jeph Ojinaka, J. I. J. Njoku and Stan Nzekwe.post by expdonaloaded.blogspot.com..A statement issued after an executive committee meeting, yesterday and signed by leadership of the party and made available to the Expdonaloaded blog alleged that the activities of the expelled members of the party has become inimical to the progress of the party in the state .The statement further said that the affected persons were guilty of gross misconduct bordering on anti- party activities especially in the just-concluded general elections where they openly supported the candidate of a rival party in the gubernatorial elections. Immediately the party lost the presidential election, senator Ifeanyi Ararume, Chief Jerry Chukwueke, Humphrey Anumudu, Bethel Nzimako and their supporters immediately dumped the PDP for the APC.
However, when contacted on the development, the media aide to Senator Ararume , Dr. James Okoroma, said that PDP have embarked on another wild goose chase.Okoroma said the PDP at all levels in Imo State comprised of one set of Nigerians that can never change from doing evil, adding that Senator Araraume taught them a lesson in Imo.
He said PDP can never recover from the trauma arising from the defeat in the last governorship election in the state, wondering “how can they expel people who have left them”.
