One of them, a female bomber was said to have blown herself up at the first gate of the hospital at about 11.30a.m. while the second, suspected to be a male bomber on a bicycle ran into the hospital’s second gate, where a bomb explosion had killed five and injured 16 people last Saturday, witnesses said.
A vigilante at Molai area, who did not want his name in print confirmed the incident. The source said the two bombers targeted the hospital for the second time. A source at the hospital confirmed that two people were injured, adding that they were already receiving treatment.
Molai hospital, located about 10 kilometres from the business district of the city, also houses a Christian-based leprosy Centre and eye clinic. The incident occurred as Vice President Yemi Osinbajo visited displaced Boko Haram victims at one of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps.
