2015: PDP Senatorial aspirant woos stakeholders

Kodilichukwu-Okelekwe-0308As Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) faithful nationwide prepares for the December 7, senatorial primaries of the party, an aspirant for the Anambra Central senatorial zone, Chief Kodilichukwu Okelekwe has again called on party’s stalwarts in the area to support him to emerge as the PDP senatorial candidate for the area.

Okelewkwe, who spoke through the Director General of his campaign organisation, Mr Ikechukwu Obeki appealed to PDP stakeholders in Anambra central to take into account his antecedents and past contribution to development of the party and the senatorial zone in general.
He admonished the party to consider party loyalty in deciding who gets it ticket for the senatorial seat, stating that the PDP should not make the mistake of fielding any of those who have dumped the party in the past senatorial seat, as they are likely to leave the party again.
This is just as public affairs analyst in the zone, Chief George Aniemena has urged the PDP and other political parties in the country to give preference to members who have remained with them through thick and thin, when it comes to nominations for elections. He averred that it is these members that make the various parties thick.
According to him, “that a party is strong is because of people who have been there and have contributed to its growth. A party is big and robust because people have been there working for the party. They have been making sacrifices for the growth of the party. So such people should be encouraged. In the sense that you don’t allow a situation where somebody cross carpets and comes into a party, and then he or she is given preference over the people that have been in the party. It is quite demoralizing. And that is not a good way to build a party.”
Besides, Obeki implored the members of the party to support the man who has always being within them, supported them and the person who will remember them when he gets to the Senate.
“What we need is somebody with integrity, who has credibility and the capacity to win the main election. From his track record, Okelekwe is the man, who can win the senatorial seat for the PDP,” he stated.
