Police in Ogun State may be planning to conduct a DNA test on
other seven children of the nurse, Adebola Adebowale, arrested for
allegedly stealing a day-old child after taking his delivery.
Expdonaloaded blog gathered that the planned DNA test by the police on the
seven children was part of investigation of the case of child-stealing
involving Adebowale.The DNA test is said to have become imperative to determine the paternity and maternity of the seven children.
The police had last Friday arrested Adebowale for allegedly stealing
the child in Arogun village, Ewekoro Local Government Area of the state
about two months ago.
The nurse, who is the proprietor of a private clinic in the village,
was alleged to have stolen the male newborn baby after taking his
delivery.
The planned DNA test, Expdonaloaded blog learnt was to ascertain that the arrested nurse was the biological mother the previous children.
Meanwhile, the police have said in the course of investigating the
case at the Department of Criminal Investigation and Intelligence in
Eleweran, Abeokuta, “it has been established that the arrested ‘nurse’
is a trado-medical midwife and not a trained or registered nurse.”
According to the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Muyiwa
Adejobi, this was revealed and established after the
police investigators in the case contacted and visited relevant
government and professional bodies in the state to ascertain the status
of the suspect.
Further investigation revealed that the suspect is Mrs Adebola Adebowale, not Titilayo Adebola.
The PPRO said: “The suspect, who was practising her business of
midwifery in Meran area of Lagos State before she eventually relocated
to her unregistered maternity home called Amazing Grace, No 10,
Akinhanmi, Street, Ifo in Ogun State almost 2 year ago. She is also a
worshipper of Osun deity.
“It has also been established that the suspect and her new husband, a
surveyor, have christened the baby Adebowale Malik Adeyemi at a well
celebrated naming ceremony in Ifo, Ogun State.
“The state Commissioner of Police, Abdulmajid Ali, has directed that
the matter be properly investigated in the Department of Criminal
Investigation and Intelligence, Eleweran, Abeokuta and be charged to
court as soon as the investigation is concluded.”
