The commissioner noted that the deadline given to the landlords after two weeks warning still stands. His words: “We believe that between now and Wednesday, those who do not have their water closet system (WCS) must have completed them because that is the only way people contract cholera and other diseases.” Ogodo-Ali further disclosed that the first phase of waste clearance in the state had been concluded just as he noted that the second phase had also commenced, adding that no waste dump would be allowed to last 24 hours in and around the state. He revealed that there were waste dumps in the state which had not been cleared for seven years and the ministry had deployed trucks to ensure the wastes were cleared. The activities of the ministry, he said, would not be limited to urban area alone but extended to areas close to the state capital and senatorial zones.
