Based on the fact that a rotten tree cannot produce good fruits, I employed all manner of etymologies in my disapproval of any attempt to foist a deceased trunk on Abians. For me there was no rationalisation or justificatory aplomb that would have convinced me to accept T. A. Orji’s “boy” as his successor considering the horrendous damage he wrought in the state between 2007 qnd 2015, which represents the darkest era in the history of the state!
Most people are quick to point out that both T. A. Orji and his benefactor, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, former governor of the state from 1999 to 2007, are two sides of a coin with nothing to celebrate despite wild allegations of misperceived attempts by this medium to launder the image of the publisher. As I had written in recency, if Dr. Kalu was bad for purposes of argument, his amnesic successor was worse for a number of verifiable reasons that are extraneous to this week’s subject.post by expdonaloaded.blogspot.com..In eschatological environments, we can visit the sins of a father on his son. In subscription to this spirituality, we can conveniently heap the transgressions of the immediate-past governor of Abia State on his political son, Ikpeazu, which is what I have been stridently doing for some time now up till last Monday in this column. Following the entry here last week, copious interventions via short messaging service and telephonic conversations, I have decided to give Gov. Ikpeazu a chance on the conditionality that he would not toe the steps of his predecessor in office. He must flee from the path of destruction and eternal damnation. I will also advise Ikpeazu not to dream of biting the hand that fed him like T. A. Orji roundly demonstrated in his brazen and audacious demonisation, calumniation and futile emasculation of his former boss who brought him to wasted reckoning. If it were possible, T. A. Orji would have exterminated Dr. Kalu. That was what was left to be done. What did the ingrate not do to humiliate Dr. Kalu beyond recognition? When a man is greater than another he cannot be diminished in any circumstance or by any means by the same weakling.
- A. Orji naturally and democratically was not qualified to govern Abia State. His enthronement from the blues will remain the greatest blunder Dr. Kalu ever made in his life for which he has innumerably apologized to Abians and the world. And the expectation was that he would better the performance (or lack of it as the debate enrages) of his erstwhile mentor. Rather, the estrangement brought out the true colour and character of T. A. Orji: a man that cannot be entrusted with responsibility. For me, T. A. Orji hallmarks pitch darkness while Dr. Kalu signposts light no matter how fickle as his hypercitics insist! It is this illumination that threw up T. A. Orji against mounting oppositional forces that saw beyond Dr. Kalu’s inexplicable obsession with a man that had no pedigree whatsoever and who eagle-eyed and perceptive allies of Dr. Kalu had dismissed for obvious reasons that manifested themselves later to the perpetual chargrin of Dr. Kalu. T. A. Orji’s mindless persecution of invincible Kalu is unparalleled in human history.
Without any overestimation and based on the countless multimedia data I have received on Gov. Ikpeazu following my article last week, I want to believe that the new governor has the golden opportunity and youthful potentiality to redeem Abia State and transform it from being the worst to one of the best in the country. This is the time to learn from the mistakes of Dr. Kalu and collateral damage by the sadist they call T. A. or comical Ochendo.
I have the conviction that Dr. Ikpeazu must have developed a realistic blueprint for the rediscovery and renaissance of our state. My eternal grouse about T. A. Orji resulted in my loss of confidence in his successor, but having received meaningful elucidations, deep assurances and vehement reassurances from multifarious sources, hopefully independent, I am compelled to have a rethink on my earlier reservations about the vision, capacity, competence and commitment of our new governor with a promise. He should not go the way of T. A. Orji by being rebellious, restive, canterkerous and forgetful of the past. It is only a bullish ingrate in a china shop that does that. Luckily, too, considering your profile, I am sure you do not have a son that will sideline you and take over your mandate in the worst demonstration of rascality, poor upbringing and a clear testament to surrogacy.
It is my strong belief that Gov. Ikpeazu can turn things around provided he does not allow himself to be misled by one power-inebriate boy who at best should have been confined to a life of drunkenness and, asininty and elementary fabrication in one of the ruralities in Umuahia! History beckons on you, Dr. Ikpeazu, to correct yesterday’s mistakes by all your predecessors now. Rest assured of my support in whatever form.
