The Ebonyi State deputy governorship candidate and Chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Jerry Obasi, has said the party was intact, stressing that the party did not merge with All Progressives Congress (APC) during a rally to support Muhammadu Buhari in the state.
Obasi, who was reacting to Saturday’s defection of some members of other  political parties including some APGA members to APC said the party remained united, despite the defection.He said: “Ebonyi APGA is intact; all our members from wards to state level are intact. They have been carrying campaign of calumny among the members of APGA, trying to deceive them, but it has been difficult. They wanted to kidnap me but it was foiled by the police.post by expdonaloaded.blogspot.com.“I was thinking that those who joined us in the 2015 elections came to assist us to build APGA but it is not quite up to three months, they joined, they are back in APC because the same people refused to assist the party and themselves to win.“We are not part of that jamboree they did and Ebonyi State APGA is not part of it. We remain very intact and we are very complete. It is the group that came to APGA, with Senator Anthony Agbo, that joined APC, but the APGA I lead is intact“All these are desperate attempts by desperate politicians, who lack ideology, who find it difficult to build anywhere; all they are more interested in is to look for a place that is already built.
I am happy for the APC victory at the election. All these people that said that they have joined APC will go there to destroy the party as they have destroyed the platform that made them.”
