BARELY five minutes after President Muhammadu
Buhari inaugurated the Federal Executive Council yesterday, his
Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed said the government will
hit the ground running two minutes from inauguration.
He said this at the Presidential Villa while fielding questions from
newsmen on over five months wasted by the All Progressives Congress
(APC)-led government in looking for suitable candidates for the jobs.
Buhari administered the oath of office on 36 ministers who are now
in charge of 24 ministries, with no minister left out in the sharing of
portfolios.
A former national publicity secretary of the APC, Mohammed had been
questioned many times on the failure of the party in hitting the
ground running as promised during campaigns.
Since the party got power on May 29, rather than commence governance
at the federal level, the party has been hit with series of internal
crises caused by power sharing.
