Expdonaloaded News; Police corporal commits suicide

A  Police corporal,  Agi Elias, attached to the Safer High way patrol of the Lagos State Police command has allegedly committed Suicide.He was found dead in his car with some tablets and suspected poisonous substance.The  Corporal has just concluded his  promotion course in the Police Training School (PTS), Ikeja, from Corporal to Sergeant.
The Promotional course came to an end on Monday and sources claimed that the deceased took his life as he did not do well in the just concluded examination.
A senior Police Officer told Daily Sun that Preliminary investigations carried out so far, revealed that tablets and poisonous substance littered around his corpse in his car.
The Police Officer said his body has been recovered and deposited at Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) mortuary.
The Officer who confided in Daily Sun said: “We are suspecting the Corporal had seen his scripts and knew that he had failed and would not be promoted, decided to take his life. The training and examination just ended on Monday and he was found dead on Tuesday.”
Lagos State  Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr Joseph Offor who confirmed the death of Elias said: “The command wishes to confirm the story that a policeman was found dead in his Volkswagen Passat car parked at the entrance gate of Police Barracks Ikeja.  He was found dead yesterday at about 7.30am.”
Mr Offor said the State Commissioner of Police, Mr Fatai Owoseni has ordered the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation (SCID), Panti to take over the investigation of the case with a view to unravelling the cause of death.
He however, confirmed that drugs and suspected poisonous substance were found inside the car that the Corporal was found dead.
