Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode will ,today, meet with Lagosians
at the maiden edition of his quarterly Town Hall meeting in Lagos West
senatorial district.The meeting is in fulfillment of his campaign promise to engage the
citizenry and chart a path where regular interactions will take place to
inundate people with plans, policies and programmes of his
administration as well as fulfil his pledge of participatory governance.
In a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of
Information and Strategy, Mr. Folarin Adeyemi, the meeting, slated
for Abesan Mini Stadium/playground, Abesan Housing Estate, Ipaja at
11:00am, was designed to enable people rub minds with the governor on
salient issues germane to the progress of the state while proffering
solutions to them.
Meanwhile, as the Igbo community and Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Lagos celebrate
New Yam festival in Lagos, Eze Ndigbo of Lagos, Eze Christian Nwachukwu,
has urged his kinsmen to put the homestead first.
Nwachukwu, who made the statement in Lagos while unveiling this year’s
calendar for the festival which would climax on October 10, said unlike
previous event, this year’s event would be educative and informative as
burning issues affecting the Igbo race would be discussed.
He said Ambode and his wife would be special guests of honour, while the
Chairman, South-East Traditional Council, Eze C. I. Ilomunanya, would
be royal father of the day.
Other dignitaries expected at the event includeAll Progressives Congress
(APC) chieftain, Chief Ogbonnaya Onu and Dim Ralph Uwazurike.
