Six members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Udu Local
Government Area of Delta State have been expelled for varying degrees of
anti-party activities by the leadership of the party in the state.Besides, the party suspended five councillors in Ughelli North Local
Government Legislative Arm for one month for allegedly laying false
allegation against the council chairman, Kenneth Ibru.
Publicity Secretary of the party in the state, Deinghan Ray Macaulay who
announced the expulsion and suspension after two separate stakeholders’
meeting in Asaba, gave the names of the expelled members as Alex
Batete, Kpator Ernest, Francis Afuevure, David Efeghere, Dane Okorhi and
Emusiri Onojeghoro.
Mr. Macaulay noted that the six persons were found culpable of the
alleged offences, particularly working against the interest of the party
in Udu Local Government Area.
For the suspended councillors in Ughelli North council, Macaulay said at
the expiration of the suspension, the affected councillors would
pledged to be of good behavior and never to be involved in falsehood
before they resume duties.
