Eiye Confraternity Secret Cult Member Jailed In Kirikiri For Surulere Lagos Attack.Magistrate Aka Bashorun sitting at an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday remanded an alleged cultist, 33-year-old Peter Udoh, at the Kirikiri Prisons in Apapa, Lagos State, western Nigeria, for fighting in public with weapons. Udoh had at the sitting of the court pleaded guilty to belonging to a secret cult. The accused of 1, Durojaiye St., Lawanson, Lagos State, is facing a three-count charge of causing a breach of the peace, conspiracy and being a member of a secret cult.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Kehinde Olatunde, told the court that the accused committed the offences on May 15 at `Empire’ in Surulere area of Lagos State. Olatunde said that the accused and others still at large conspired to cause a breach of the peace of the residents by fighting with a gun and other weapons.post by expdonaloaded News;  “The accused, who is a member of `Eiye Confraternity` engaged in a fight with a rival group `Axe` in which many innocent people sustained injuries. “The accused confessed that the cause of the fight was an alleged N500,000 gift by a politician to his group which the other rival group wanted to share from. “The accused said that the rival group stormed their meeting place with violent objects. “And that resulted in a fight in which members of both groups sustained injuries from gun shots,” he said. The prosecutor alleged that the accused was one of the notorious cultists that had been terrorising the area with his members that had killed residents and destroyed their properties there. Olatunde said that the offences contravened Sections 42, 166 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011. Bashorun, however, adjourned the case to August 26 for a review of facts and sentencing.
