On his return to the country and particularly after the elections, Chinweuba was said to have re-oiled his arsenal and re-started his exploits. He was said to have within the space of three weeks with his gang, kidnapped Marcel Nnaemeka Eni at Coll Park, Ohuru; Ndubuisi Victor Emejiaka at Umuohia village and attempted the abduction of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Alioha at Odukwu village all in Obingwa Local Government Area.
Chinweuba, said to have sunk a water borehole at his local church, where his wife is a deaconess and where he parked some of his cars, was also said to have masterminded the foiled kidnap attempt of a man from Obingwa local government, who had lived in the United States of America for over 40 years but came home recently to bury his late father.
Nemesis caught up with him and his gang, when they killed one John Chinwenwa Ekpendu also from Obingwa.
The late Ekpendu recently lost his wife and kept her corpse in the mortuary and started sourcing for money to perform the funeral ceremony.
So, he sold a parcel of his land to raise the needed fund.
But on the day he was paid for the plot of land, Osisikankwu’s former aide with his gang struck. They did not only collect all the proceeds from the sale of the plot of land, they also killed Ekpendu. His corpse and that of his wife are in the mortuary.
Following this incident and other violent crimes committed in the area, late last week, the police at Ohuru Isimiri led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Titus Anayo Ugwoke acting on a tip off, raided the hideout of the bandits at Umuarukwu village in Obingwa.
During the raid, the alleged kidnap kingpin, Chinweuba; Enyioma and Obinna both from Umuomei, and also Ogbonna from Usaka Umuoho Nsulu in Isiala Ngwa South Local Government arae were arrested.
When contacted, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Abia State command, Ezekiel Onyeke confirmed the arrests and said the suspects would soon be charged to court.
