Expdonaloaded News; No oil baron sponsored Saraki’s election – Senator

saraki take oat malaye LSpokesman of The Like Minds, Senator Dino Melaye, yesterday reiterated that Senate President, Bukola Saraki is resolute in the crusade against corruption in the new administration.

He said Saraki would not only continue to expose corruption, the Senate President will also not tolerate corrupt tendencies in the legislature.
In a signed statement issued in Abuja yesterday, Melaye dismissed weekend reports in a national newspaper that Saraki’s election was facilitated by oil barons implicated in the oil subsidy fraud perpetrated during the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan.
Senator Melaye noted that it was Saraki, who, in the Seventh Senate solely sponsored a motion, which exposed the rot in not only the oil sector, but also the scam called oil subsidy.
His words: “The attention of the senators of Like Minds has been drawn to a malicious, false and totally reprehensible news report wherein it insinuated that the election of Dr. Bukola Saraki, as the Senate President of the Eighth Senate was facilitated by Nigerians associated with dubious claims in the infamous oil subsidy.post by expdonaloaded.blogspot.com..“The news report went further to give a negative and dirty impression that the emergence of the President of the Eighth Senate was aimed at sabotaging the anti corruption posture of President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government.
“Ordinarily, we would have ignored the report given the writer’s antecedents in arm-chair reporting but for the sole reason that some undiscerning readers might mistake the fiction for facts.
“We also wish to state unequivocally that it was wrong and mischievous for the writer of the fictional piece to link what happened on the floor of both chambers to some unnamed ex-ministers of the immediate past administration.
“We dare say that the entire story, detailed as it may seem, was the figment of the imagination of the author.
“That the story was packed full of insinuations and wild allegations and the writer evaded specificity in the names of the dramatist personae throughout the story, smacks of bad journalism.
“We make bold to state that in the Seventh Assembly, Senator Bukola Saraki single-handedly, through a motion on the floor of the Senate, exposed the fraud in the oil sector and mismanagement of oil subsidy.”
