Both Mali and Senegal yesterday progressed to the quarterfinals at
the ongoing FIFA U20 World Cup in New Zealand with wins over Ghana and
Ukraine respectively in the round of 16.Joining them in the quarterfinals would be Serbia and USA that beat Hungary and Colombia respectively.
Mali completely outclassed its Ghanaian opponent at the Wellington Regional Stadium with goals from Diadie Samassekou (20’), Dieudonne Gbakle (53’) and Aboubacar Doumbia (81’) handing it a 3-0 win.

Sidy Sarr opened the scoring for Senegal in the first half before Artem Biesiedin levelled matters in the second half.Senegal will now face the winner of the last 16 match between Austria and Uzbekistan in the quarterfinals.The other two last 16 matches yesterday saw USA beat Colombia 1-0 and Serbia defeated Hungary 2-1. USA will now face Serbia in the quarterfinals.
