Nigerians have been urged to keep their hopes alive in God that
Nigeria will again become the land that will flow with milk and honey
for the benefit of all and sundry.
National President, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Rev
(Dr.) Felix Omobude; Senior Pastor, Kingsway International Christian
Centre (KICC), London, Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo and President,
Gethsemane Prayer Ministries International, Ibadan, Rev (Dr.) Moses
Aransiola gave the charge in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
They gave the charge in their separate messages delivered at the
opening of this year’s six-day fresh fire convention of Gethsemane
Prayer Ministries tagged: From Glory to Glory, held at the Gethsemane
World Prayer Centre, Eleyele, Ibadan on Tuesday evening.
In his prophetic ministration, Ashimolowo, who told a story of how
he used to hawk bread from Eleyele in Ibadan to Jericho when he was very
small, encouraged Nigerians at the programme not to lose hope in
themselves, Nigeria and God, saying tomorrow would be better.
Omobude also enjoined the church to tell the truth all the time,
adding that members should at the same time keep their hopes alive in
God. He stated that when unwanted and unexpected events unfold, they
should be steadfast and committed to serving God and humanity.
He assured Nigerians that darkness may endure for a night, but joy would come in the morning.
Welcoming participants to the programme, Aransiola said: “The theme
of this fresh fire convention could not have come at a better time. The
glory of God is the answer to the darkness that is threatening the
world. According to Isaiah 60:1-3, we believe the glory of the Church
will shine best in the midst of the gross darkness that was enveloping
the world.
“It is my joy to announce to you that it is because of God’s manifest
glory in this nation that our corporate destiny and existence have
defied the negative predictions of war, disintegration and doom.
Nigeria lives on.” The fresh fire convention, which began on Tuesday,
featured the Shiloh Prayer Hour and Horeb Hour in the morning and
evening of yesterday and will feature same programme today (Thursday)
and tomorrow.
On Saturday, the convention will feature community empowerment
programme such as presentation of Rev (Dr.) Moses Aransiola Scholarship
Award Scheme, free medical services and special prayer session in the
morning. It will be followed by miracle service in the evening, during
which Apostle Alfred Williams, President of the African and Caribbean
Evangelical Alliance (ACEA) is expected to minister.
The grand finale that will hold on Sunday will feature presentation
of awards of service and excellence to deserving people and ordination
of new ministers.
