Expdonaloaded News;‘PDP’s plot to expel Araraume childish, belated

senator-araraume-returns-to-PDP-300x220The rumoured plan by the Imo State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to expel Senator Ifeanyi Araraume and others for alleged anti-party activities has been described as childish and belated with no effect whatsoever.

It was gathered that Senator Araraume’s support for Governor Rochas Okorocha and the All Progressives Congress (APC) which was substantially responsible for APC victory in Imo State, embarrassed the state PDP leaders, hence the plan to axe the two-term Senator.
But in a swift reaction, Destiny Campaign Organization, the campaign outfit of Araraume described the move as belated, noting that the exercise was a “mere academic, cosmetic and calculated charade aimed at smearing the image of a good man”.post by expdonaloaded.blogspot.com..In a statement issued by the Director- General of the organization, Independence Ogunewe, it regretted that instead of apologising to Araraume for openly stealing the governorship ticket, he won convincingly, “PDP was still engaged in a deceitful game of demonizing the victim of its unconscionable impunity”.
It said it was unfortunate that instead of “purging itself of the corrosive vices of injustice, impunity and lack of respect for internal democracy, Imo PDP was still chasing shadows”.
It however clarified that any action planned against Araraume by Imo PDP was akin to shutting the door of the cage when the animal had leapt off because “our principal long ago left the collapsing empire known as Imo PDP”.
The statement recalled that long before the elections, Araraume and his teeming supporters did not only leave PDP but had in fact registered their membership with APC at the ward levels, adding, “Indeed Ararume and his supporters have been card carrying members of APC at all the wards in Imo state long before the elections and this is verifiable. Besides, our leader has been attending leadership meetings of APC both at the National and state levels, to full public knowledge”.
Said Ogunewe: “You cannot secure a court order for an abortion of a baby that was delivered six months earlier. PDP cannot expel Araraume because he left the party long ago. Simply put, you cannot expel what does not belong to you”.
Insisting that PDP was out either for mischief or self delusion, the statement added: “If not out of mischief or collective amnesia, Imo PDP ought to also know that the Distinguished Senator with his teeming supporters openly declared support for Governor Okorocha before the governorship election.
“His Excellency, the governor has in various fora openly confessed that that singular action by our principal changed the game against PDP. What more do we need to say?”, the organization asked.
The statement also noted that even in the presidential election, the Araraume factor had significant influence because the PDP could not win enough votes in that election hence, the state PDP has every reason to be embarrassed and bemused over their disastrous outing, but he enjoined them to face the reality of the electoral fiasco that exposed them as political paper weights in Imo state and stop chasing shadows.
The organization averred that instead of dissipating energy on a non issue, the Executive members of Imo PDP ought to have resigned enmasse for their “grievous actions of incompetence, greed and impunity which robbed PDP of victory”.
The group added: “We expected them to borrow a leaf from the recent events in London where party leaders resigned for failing elections. Engaging in further acts of mischief shows that Imo PDP is heading for the graves”.
It called on supporters of Senator Araraume to ignore “the antics of the drowning men who have been taught the lessons of their lives.
It also called on them to support Governor Okorocha and APC in their resolve to offer quality governance to Imo people.
