For months now, the creativity of the Nigerian Child has been on showcase in the Omo ‘Imagine and Achieve’ Competition for
primary schools and it has been a thrill-ride for the senses. Who knew
our children had so much potential waiting to be unleashed!
Well,
thanks to Omo’s initiative, young persons with talents for Arts and
Writing are being discovered across the country with the best entries in
the states going “Art to Art” in the ongoing state finals and were
rewarded with prizes ranging from N70,000 to N50,000 bursaries. Other
prizes include bicycles, school bags, writing materials, etc.
Meanwhile,
the top three entries in the Essay contests smiled home with Laptops,
N20,000 and N15,000 respectively – and all these happened in over 20
states across the country.
The Lagos
state finals was held on Wednesday May 13, 2015 and it was an occasion
filled with colour and creativity. The top three Art entries received
N100,000, N70,000 and N50,000 respectively.
On
Friday May 15, the state winners were gathered at Funtastica
Land in Ilupeju, Lagos for the Grand Finale where the best of the best
Artwork winners were crowned with N1,000,000, N500,000 and N200,000 in
bursaries.
