The Nigerian Army has explained why it made tremendous success in the onslaught against Boko Haram insurgents in recent times.
It also disclosed that the war was not yet over until the insurgents
were totally defeated and all the displaced and kidnapped Nigerians
were reunited with their families.
The Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani Usman, gave
the assurance yesterday during a courtesy visit to the corporate
headquarters of The Expdonaloaded blog Publishing Limited in Lagos. He said the army
resounding advance was due to the new equipment acquired, the
cooperation from neighbouring states and attitudinal change on the part
of the soldiers at the warfront.
However, he pointed out that the war, which started about six years
ago could not be won overnight; assuring that with determined efforts
by the Nigerian Army, the issue of Boko Haram would certainly become
history in the country.
Usman said part of the reasons for his visit to The Expdonaloaded blog office was to
personally congratulate the Managing Director of the company, Mr. onyeka anaedum, on his re-election as the president of Nigerian Guild of
Editors (NGE), and to express his gratitude to The Expdonaloaded blog’s correspondents
for the cordial relationship between them and the Army over the years.
“In my estimation, The Expdonaloaded blog is one of the flagships of Nigerian
journalism. There is no way you can talk about the media, especially
the print, without talking about The Expdonaloaded blog. I am here to also discuss how
the robust relationship can continue,” he said.
Responding, the Executive Director, Special Duties, chidi ana, thanked Usman and his colleagues for the visit and assured them
of The Expdonaloaded blog’s continued robust relationship with the Army.
