Expdonaloaded News; We made N6.8m in one robbery, my share was N410,000 –Suspect

500x350xDIG_Solomon_Aranse-.jpg.pagespeed.ic.kbvzc7w31UA suspected armed robber has disclosed how his gang made N6.8 million from a single operation.
Two suspects, simply identified as Ola and another gang member, Ogunbiyi are being interrogated at the Special Anti-robbery Squad (SARS) of the Lagos State Police Command for series of armed robbery in Lagos, especially in Badagry. In February this year at  Morogbo, where N6.8 million was snatched from a filling station manager .

Ola told Crime Watch Today, “on February 23, 2015, at about 11.30a.m, our eight-man  gang rode on four motorcycles,  armed with four locally-made double barrel guns  with 35 live cartridges, stormed De-Sholly Petrol station located  opposite Morogbo police station along Lagos/Badagry Expressway. We were afraid initially because it was in front of a police station, but our leader assured us of our escape.
“We actually parked our motorcycles and pretended as if we were commercial motor cycle operators (okada riders) waiting for passengers. Finally, our prayer was answered as the manager drove out in his Toyota Camry car. We followed him and intercepted him. His name is Adewale.  He was on his way to the bank to deposit the  N6.8 million, being proceeds from petrol  sales.  Sese and Webo tried to collect the money from him, he resisted and one of them shot him in the armpit. I am not sure who fired the shot, but we succeeded in dispossessing him of the money.
“The victim was a tough man because he knocked down the first and second motorcycles that double-crossed him before he was shot and wounded. So, four occupants of the two motorcycles were knocked down. They abandoned the  motorcycles and joined us in the remaining two motorcycles. That was how we escaped. I got N41O,OOO and Sese got N430,OOO.I don’t know how Webo shared the balance but he told us he would settle the people that he hired the arms and ammunition from.
“Robbery is not good. There is money but you will continue to live in fear. See how we have been messed up by the police. We offered them money to let us go, but they rejected it. We have been calling our families to come and rescue us, but none came.”
Spokesman of state police command, Kenneth Nwosu, said when the Commissioner of Police, Mr Kayode Aderanti got wind of the robbery, he ordered the SARS boss, Mr Abba  Kyari to arrest the bandits.
“Kyari and his SARS team went into action and arrested Ogunbiyi and Ola in their hide-out at Iyana-Iba axis on April 7, 2015.The suspects confessed to have taken part in the robbery attack.
“They claimed that one Webo, who is still at large, is their gang leader, who provided the arms and ammunition used for the operation, Nwosu said.
