There was disquiet in the Bayelsa State chapter of the Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP) as the disciplinary committee set up by the
party’s leadership has summoned former deputy governor of the state,
Werinipre Seibarugu and seven others to appear before it.
The committee was set up to review cases of anti-party activities
levelled against chieftains of the party during the Presidential,
National Assembly and House of Assembly elections.
Also billed to appear before the committee is the former chairman of
Ekeremor Local Government Area in the state, Robinson Etolor and
Osomkime Blankson, personal assistant to incumbent senator representing
Bayelsa Central Senatorial District, Emmanuel Paulker.
Others are Leghemo Kaizer, Stephen Kayama, Ebikapadei Dibiya, I. E. Brigidi and Benimor Conliff Fiebai.
Checks indicated that immediately the announcement of the names was
made on major radio stations in the state, several meetings were held by
those invited and their supporters, to assess the development and chart
a way forward.post by expdonaloaded.blogspot.com..According to reports, the summon had further polarised the party with
members from central zone alleging a deliberate attempt to hound them
out of the party by those, who were suspicious that somebody from the
central zone wanted to contest against Governor Seriake Dickson.
The Chairman of the disciplinary committee, Mr. Cleopas Moses, had,
however, denied allegations that the committee was set up to witch-hunt
perceived political opponents of Governor Dickson.
According to him, those invited were expected to appear before the
committee today to defend themselves over their alleged involvement in
anti-party activities.
