seven years, but started selling petrol at the black market during the
current fuel scarcity.Ademola said he bought each keg for N1,800 from the engineer and resold it for N2,500 in the black market.post by expdonaloaded.blogspot.com..The suspect also said he was arrested when he went for another trip,
which was supposed to be big business for him. He stated that the
engineer asked him to arrange for drums to convey the petroleum product
to Ibadan, adding that he arranged 24 drums in two buses and brought
them to Odeda Junction, where he met with the agents of the engineer.
The agents, he said, collected the two buses from the two drivers at
the junction and drove along Odeda-Ogunmakin Road. He was arrested by
the police at the Odeda Junction, where he was waiting for the agents to
come back.
The Commissioner of Police Mr. Mohammed Katsina, told Expdonaloaded blog Today that his men moved to the scene due to the sensitivity of the matter.
“We have to act on our reliable intelligence to go beyond our
boundary to take care of the situation. It is a coordinated effort of my
ambush squad, the anti-kidnapping squad, Skynet Squad as well as
officers and men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad(SARS).
“You may describe these suspects as unrepentant economic sabotage,
but I describe them as glutinous vultures scavenging on our national
pride. You are all aware of the situation we are facing today due to
fuel scarcity; this is one of the many areas being punctured by these
miscreants to deny members of the public and by extension, the Federal
Government’s efforts to providing enough fuel for the citizens,” Katsina
said.
