It was gathered that Idowu, a member of the 2014 Batch B set in state had gone to Shoprite, a popular shopping mall, on Saturday and did not return home.
The Lagos-based corps member was an indigene of Ogun State and lived at Tanke, along University Road.
Checks by Daily Sun revealed that the corps member might have been given a free ride on her way to the mall, but the police could not confirm this. The force said it was still investigating the incident.
The deceased’s corpse was found on Sunday night around Government Reservation Area (GRA) Ilorin.
However, her family has been contacted while her corpse would be released today on the insistence of the family.post by expdonaloaded.blogspot.com.The corps member was attached to the state-broadcasting corporation, Radio Kwara Ilorin, for her primary assignment.Speaking with Expdonaloaded blog, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Okasanmi Ajayi, said: “We are still investigating, we cannot conclusively say it is a case of abduction or ritual killing because no part of the body was missing. It could be a case of a hit and run driver or an accident out rightly.“I cannot confirm that she was raped because all the examinations conducted on her did not show any sign of rape and we are still investigating but I cannot say exactly what happened.”Asked whether she was given a free ride, he said: “All these are guess works, Nobody has volunteered any statement to us, if anybody has any information, maybe they should get to us.
“As far as we are concerned, it was a reported case of ‘found dead’ with a broken skull and bruises. For now, I cannot tell you whether it was a case of rape, abduction or kidnapping.”
He said the corpse would be released today while investigation would go on.
