Kidnapper shot dead, victim rescued in Lagos

SuspectThe Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Lagos State Police Command has shot dead a suspected kidnapper and rescued the female victim.

Expdonaloaded blog gathered that Kudirat Adeboye, a petrol filling station owner, was abducted the Elemoro area of Ibeju-Lekki.
The 60-year-old woman was inspecting construction at her new petrol station before she was seized.
The kidnappers were said to have demanded a N50 million ransom, but after negotiation, they agreed to collect N3 million.
When the news got to the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Kayode Aderanti, he ordered the officer in charge of SARS, Mr. Abba Kyari, to fish out the kidnappers and rescue the victim.
Kyari and his decoy teams trailed the victim’s brother who was carrying the ransom to Epe.
The kidnappers, who were not aware that Kyari and his men were trailing them came to collect the ransom and one of them who wanted to collect it, was shot by the police.

The hoodlum who was badly wounded, died later, but the police rescued the victim.
The command’s spokesman, Mr. Kenneth Nwosu, said Mr. Aderanti has ordered Mr. Kyari  to  arrest the fleeing kidnappers.

Expert frowns at Nigerians’ attitude to security

“It is sad that despite the  happenings around us and all over the world, Nigerians have continued to  take security for granted, leaving it  to the police and guards alone to handle .
We have been in events security for many years and  the success I achieved in such endeavours, I want to extend such to homes and offices.
“I believe that there is the need to broaden our scope and  not just limit the services to events and concerts alone, but to bring it to the homes of the average security Conscious Nigerians.
“We are not limited to just the provision of guards  at the gate, we are into Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), Access control, burglary and alarm control, training of staff for companies and background checks on domestic staff,” he said.

Police arrest 3 suspected criminals

The Delta State Police Command has arrested three suspected kidnappers who abducted a man and his one-year-old daughter.
The victims were abducted at Ubulu-Uku-Isele-Uku Road in Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State.
The state’s police spokesperson, Celestina Kalu, said on April 3, three gunmen kidnapped Ngadonye Joseph of Okukuokuo, Warri along Ubulu-Uku Road while driving in his Lexus Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) marked LEA 975AA with his daughter.
She said the victims were later pushed off from the vehicle when the hoodlums discovered that the man had no money and drove the SUV to unknown destination.
Kalu said on April 18, the Special Anti-Kidnapping Squad (SAKS) Asaba, investigating the case, with the aid of the tracking device in the vehicle, recovered it in Port Harcourt, Rivers State where they arrested three suspects, Christopher, Chibuzor and Abdul.
She said the police will arrest the principal suspect, Idah (aka ‘TJ’), who is on the run.

Police bust fake job syndicate in Abuja 
• Several suspects detained

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has raided the city and its environs in a bid to flush out criminals from their hideout.  Many suspects were arrested.
Among them were fraudsters and impersonators who were swindling their victims of money.
The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Wilson Inalegwu, told Expdonaloaded blogs that some of the suspects have started assisting the police in their investigation.
He said one of them, Gimba, specialized in issuing fake letters of appointments.
He said Gimba had defrauded job applicants of over N5 million with promises to offer them jobs in the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA).
Another suspect, Uwaezuoke, who is also in the police net, he said, impersonated the Comptroller-General of Immigration, Mr. David Paradang, in an attempt to sign and collect approved land allocation documents from FCDA office.
According to him, one Nkemakolam, a business centre operator, who conspired with a fake policewoman to produce bogus identity cards for criminals, is also in the police net.

Third Benue college  official abducted

Gunmen last Saturday kidnapped the Chairman of maintenance unit of the College of Education (COE), Kastina-Ala in Benue State, Mr. Terwase Burbwa from his home.
So far, three officials have been abducted from the institution in one month.
The Provost, Dr. Han Senwua, was kidnapped on March 28, but was later released after ransom was paid. His deputy became the second victim.
Sources said Burbwa was abducted from his residennce in Kastina-Ala at about 8pm shortly after his return from his nephew’s wedding.
Police spokesman, Austin Ezeani, an Assistant Superintendent, said he was yet to be briefed on the matter, but assured that the command would swing into action as soon as the matter is brought to its notice.
