inec_1Resident Commissioner of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Benue State, Prof Istfanus Dafwang has confirmed that three ad-hoc staff of the commission died in the course of election duty in Benue State.

Dafwang, who was speaking at the headquarters of INEC in Benue State yesterday, said a female ad-hoc staff died on Saturday morning in Oju, on her way to her duty post while two others died yesterday morning on their way back to Makurdi from Vandeikya.
“There were some hitches and we need to pray some more. Three ad-hoc staff died in accidents in the course of the election. One from Oju Local Government was taken by a motorcycle rider to her unit and the motorcyclist was apparently over-speeding when the front tyre of his bike suddenly removed which caused the accident that led to her death, “she said.
