cadets-in-military-training-exercise-kaduna-nigeriaMinister of Youth  Development, Mr. Boni Haruna, has commended the Nigerian Military for liberating Michika in Adamawa State from Boko Haram insurgents.
This is even as he called on the people of the state to re-elect President Goodluck Jonathan for a second term in office.
Michika, the hometown of the former governor of Adamawa State, was taken over by the insurgents on September 8, 2014.

Haruna, in a statement made available to Daily Sun yesterday in Abuja and signed by the Acting Director (Press), Ministry of Youth Development, Mr. Olusola Abiola, lauded the courage of the soldiers by the successful and historic military operations leading to the liberation of the area.
He adjudged the development as an eloquent testimony of the bravery and professional competence of the Nigerian soldiers.
Haruna also commended President Jonathan for the bold initiative in setting up the Presidential Victims Support Fund (PVSF) and his assurance to rebuild all the towns, villages and businesses destroyed by the insurgents.
He called on the PVSF committee to start the process of identifying and assessing the property and businesses that had been destroyed in the recovered areas of the state, with a view to assisting the victims to return and fully settle down.
Haruna also urged the PVSF committee to put in place a mechanism to ensure that victims were not shortchanged in the disbursement of any assistance meant for them by the fund like the 2012 flood disaster in the state where the flood victims were allegedly sidelined.
