Two suspected members of Boko Haram have been killed in Kano State
during a failed attack on a police station located inside Kibiya town
in Kibiya Local Government Area of the state.
It was gathered that while one of the suspects was killed during the gun duel between them and the police, the other insurgent was lynched by natives, while he tried to escape.
Also, two other suspects, who were part of the foiled attack, have been arrested by the police and taken into custody.
Police Public Relations Officer, in the state, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Magaji Majiya, confirmed to Daily Sun that the attack on the police station happened at about 5p.m. on Saturday, adding that the suspects drove to the station on their motorbikes.
According to him, unspecified number of insurgents had attacked the station but the policemen on duty responded gallantly and repelled the attack.
He revealed that some of the escaped gunmen abandoned their motorcycles but assured that the police would surely get them.
He said no policeman suffered any injury during the gun battle.
Magaji implored the members of the public to be ever vigilant and make timely report of any suspicious movement in their immediate surroundings to the police or other security agencies. He thanked the people of the state for their support to the police.
