PPA govt in Abia’ll recall sacked non-natives –Udensi

udensiThe governorship candidate of Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA) in Abia State, Chief Chikwe Udensi, has assured that the sufferings of non-native workers disengaged from the state would end if he emerges the governor of the state in next month’s elections as he promised to re-instate them unconditionally.

Speaking in Aba when his wife, Chidinma organized a get together for widows and indigent women where 20 bags of rice each were given to 85 women organisations as part of the New Year celebration, Udensi said recall of the sacked workers and payment of their arrears of salaries would be sacrosanct to the PPA government in the state.
Udensi said he was pained the more over the plight of the workers and decided to make it a priority if elected to address the injustice.
He said it was wrong for the Igbo, who he stated, had been unduly treated in other parts of the country to also suffer the same fate in Igbo land, stressing that it was more disturbing that workers from neighbouring non Igbo speaking states were not affected by the mass sack.
The PPA governorship candidate said apart from recalling the sacked workers, he would pay the outstanding salaries and other entitlements of the affected workers because, according to him, they were unjustly sacked.
He assured Abia workers of prompt and constant payment of their salaries and other emoluments, stating that a worker deserved his pay. Also, he promised retirees of payment of their gratuity and pension constantly.
“Workers have suffered in this state, but I will definitely put smiles on their faces if I become the governor of the state after next month’s election. We are going to ensure that their salaries and other emoluments are paid promptly. A situation where retirees will stay for years without receiving their gratuity and several months before their pension are paid, will be a thing of the past under out watch,” he assured.
Also speaking, the PPA chairman in the state, Prince Emeka Okafor, who was full of praises for the women for standing solidly behind the party all these years despite all odds, said what Abia needed today after years in the doldrums was prosperity, which he said, PPA represented and assured that the party would rebuild Aba and other parts of the state if it comes to power by May 29.
He urged the women in particular and Abians in general to ensure they obtained their permanent voters cards (PVCs) and use them wisely during the election in order to get the desired change.
The wife of the PPA governorship candidate, Mrs. Udensi said she decided to fete the women at this auspicious time due to her love for the poor in society.
