Chairman of Enyimba FC of Aba, Chief Felix Anyansi Agwu has given a
part on the back to League Management Company (LMC), even as he dubbed
his club as the real champions of the Glo premier league that ended last
weekend.
Enyimba who finished second behind Kano Pillars last weekend secured a 3-1 victory over Pillars in the last game of the season at home to the delight of their fans.
Speaking after the match, Anyansi said the five-star performance put up by his team in the last day of the season is a confirmation of the fact that he had a better team.
“This last game was on television and it was watched live all over the world. Whoever saw the game will agree with me that Enyimba are the real champions. We took Pillars to the cleaners in a match in which there was nothing like home advantage,” Anyansi said.
The seasoned football administrator was equally full of praise for the organizers of the league-the LMC declaring that the Nduka Irabor led body has done well ending the season on a glamorous note.
Anyansi pointed out that the nation’s domestic league is a difficult one and as such the LMC deserve kudos for doing a good job of it.
“Our league is getting better under LMC. I m impressed with the job they (LMC) are doing,” Anyansi said.
Enyimba will next season feature in the money spinning CAF champions league alongside Pillars. The Peoples Elephants remain the only Nigerian club to have won the continental trophy having done so back to back in 2003 and 2004.
