After series of football action during the week attention will now
be shifted to Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos today as defending
champions, Enyimba Int’l of Aba and Dolphins of Port Harcourt play in
the final of the 2014 Federation Cup.
The People’s Elephant who defeated Warri Wolves in 2013 final won’t want to finish the season without a trophy after they lost the league trophy to Kano Pillars in the Nigeria Professional Football League while Dolphins will target a chance to secure a continental ticket.
However, both teams gun for history in today’s tie. Dolphins have never lost in the final of the competition. They’ve played the final four times and won on each occasion.
Enyimba on the other hand have played four times but could only win on two occasions. And the Peoples’ Elephant aiming to use the Federation Cup trophy as consolation to their fans for missing the Premier League diadem, beating Dolphins is a task that must be accomplished.
