We’ll resist imposition in Abia –Abaribe

Enyinnaya-Abaribe1Abia state governorship aspirant on the platform of the PDP, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe has expressed concern over the level of cynicism and despondency towards the Theodore Orji led administration in the State.

Speaking with newsmen at the party national secretariat in Abuja yesterday, Senator Abaribe promised to restore the electorate’s confidence in government by bringing integrity and character to the conduct of government business.
His words: “We have come full cycle in Abia and everybody believes that there is need for someone, who will bring competence, character and integrity to government business.
“We have deficit in all aspects of our lives in Abia and I intend to change the ways we do things in my State.”
The aspirant further dismissed insinuations that the sitting governor, Theodore Orji has anointed a certain aspirant for the party’s governorship ticket.
“I am not threatened by anybody dropping name. I don’t drop names, I like to conform with guidelines of the party.
“The National Organising Secretary has said nobody would get special treatment; that there shall be a level playing field for all aspirants. Anybody sitting at home to be governor isn’t ready.”
The aspirant also aligned himself with the resolution of the Red Chamber on autonomy for local government in the country.
“I voted for local government autonomy in the National Assembly, so I will definitely ensure that local governments have their autonomy.
“The first thing I will do if I become governor is to organise local government election and give them independence,” he assured.
Also speaking with journalists shortly after collecting his Expression of Interest and Nomination forms for the party governorship primary in Imo state, Dr. Charles Amanze declared that he would make the State the hub of investors to stimulate job creation for the youth.
“Imo is in dire need of a re-direction. As an accomplished medical doctor, I have all it takes to lift Imo, the Eastern heartland to greater heights.”
Saturday Sun checks also revealed that former Special Duties Minister, Professor Taoheed Adedoja also picked nomination form for the Oyo state governorship slot of the party. The governorship primaries of the PDP is expected to hold across the country on November 29.
