Some Bayelsa State elders under the aegis of Bayelsa Consultative Forum (BCF) have announced plans to dump Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for All Progressives Congress (APC).
The nine elders, led by Senator John Kofo Brambaifa, said they were ready to join forces with the APC government to help address challenges facing the country.
Speaking during a visit to the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of APC on Tuesday, Mr. Timi Frank, the leader of the delegation vowed that the APC would defeat PDP in the forthcoming governorship election in the state.
Brambaifa said the group believed that the Bayelsa State under the PDP administration was currently drifting; saying the administration of the state had become one-man affairs being controlled by an emperor
He said: “Bayelsa has become one-man state, controlled by an emperor-like leadership. We have sampled opinion and the result is no to emperor leadership in the state.
“We held our inaugural meeting on the 8th of this month and the people of the state have resolved that the second term ambition of the current government in the state must not be allowed to succeed.
“That we want to join the APC and they must come in their number to Bayelsa State to receive us to send a signal to the emperor that we have been properly received.”
Brambaifa assured that the forum is ready to join APC as soon as plans were concluded with the national leaders of the party.post by expdonaloaded.blogspot.com..
He explained that their coming to Abuja was to see the national leadership of APC and all the prominent members from Bayelsa State, stressing that whenever the political history of the state would be written, the visit to Frank would not be forgotten.
Responding, Frank advised the PDP leaders not to waste time any longer in joining the APC at the state level.
He assured that the national leaders of APC would appreciate them and be willing to receive them anytime they deem fit to join the party.
The delegation included Chief Alex Ekiotene, Chief Ivory Fekoru, Dr. Ebenezer Iqwe, Stev Erebo, Tobi Femone, Dr. Timi Agara, Dr Douiye Aganaba, Benjamin Youdiowe and Mrs. Irene Opuene.
