Plane crash: Gov Ahmed calls for safer airspace

Ahmed Abdulfatah kwaraKwara State Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed, has called for safer airspace for the safety of travellers.

Sympathising with passengers of the Overland Airline that was involved in a minor accident on the runway of the Ilorin International Airport at the weekend, Governor Ahmed in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Alhaji Abdulwahab Oba, said the incident was unfortunate, adding, however, that it was gratifying that the incident was without any fatality.
While commending management of the airline for its success over the year, the governor urged stakeholders in the aviation sector, including airline operators and regulators, to ensure that the sector remained safe for the travelling public just as he assured air travellers that his government would ensure that aviation companies plying the state maintained adequate standards in their operations.
